Cal 5/10/21

Calahan ate thirds on banana and all his cheerios at breakfast.  At lunch he ate everything (hamburger, avocado, pita bread, strawberries) and thirds on olives.  I decided to assign a “big”kid to each of the littler ones to help them wash and get ready for meal time.  Calahan was Nora’s and they both loved it. She took him out to the utility room to use that sink and helped him so well.  He then came in, got in his high chair and buckled himself, then Nora got his bib for him, made sure he was buckled, put his bib on and tightened it up then went out to wash herself.  It worked pretty smoothly.

Cal wandered around looking at the new room arrangement saying, “Oh man!” over and over.  I am not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing, but I do know that it cracked me up. He picked out several books and read stories until Nora and Miles joined us.  When they came he had to show them around the “new” digs then joined in on doctoring me with the thermometers, medicines, bandages and giving me shots.  He thought it was really funny when I said, “Ow-ow-ow!” when he gave me a shot.  J

He asked to do playdough right before breakfast so after we got the table cleaned up, I got out play dough and he worked on it for about 25 minutes.  I couldn’t believe how focused he was on it.  It was great.  He did everything from pressing circles into it to cutting and ripping it apart.

He did great with me being here instead of Gary but did ask where he was a couple times and “when’s Gary coming back?” once.

I taught them the fun motions to a new song using Alexa today called the “Goldfish song” and Calahan loved parts of it (pretending to swim and pretending to brush his teeth, especially).  It would get done and he would ask for it again.
