Cal - 01/03/2022

Callahan ate Cheerios and ate bananas for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef topped with avocado, bites of whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, and mandarin oranges. Not about Cal, but thought you'd like this. Here's two of my answers to Svea at Lunch Time; "Yes, olives grow on olive trees. No, pita bread does not grow on pita bread trees." :)

Happy New Year Everyone!! It was a fun morning and actually not much like a typical Monday at all. The kids were excited and played together with very minimal conflict. I love these kind of days!! Ha. I asked Cal what he liked best about Svea's party and he said, "Doughnuts!" Haha. He told me, "I saw you in your black coat yesterday." Geez, that was pretty good. I've worked with Kids for a long time and they never cease to amaze me what they will say. It's almost never what we are thinking or expecting! I know that's painting with a wide brush, but it's frequently true.

In the first picture Svea took some of her toys to the Doll House so she and Cal could play with those. In the second picture we introduced Cal to one of our "Matching Games" and that lasted for only a few minutes. "I don't want to play anymore." :) Next time I will use fewer cards; this many cards may have felt a bit overwhelming!!

In the next picture Cal and Miles were just having fun playing "peek-a-boo" type of games and Cal was saying, "What's going on!?! What's going on!?!" (I'm sure you saw him, but Miles is under the blue balance beam.) Following picture: More silliness and fun. They were pretending to sleep and one would say, "sleep" and the other one would say, "wake up" over and over. Last picture: I stopped to take a picture of the kids waiting for me to do Story Time. Love these kids!!

Callahan ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of ground turkey, bites of whole wheat hamburger bun, ate avocado, tomatoes, and cherries. I took this first picture shortly after Cal arrived and I just thought it was cute how he was sitting on the edge of the mattress reading his book. Second picture: He and Atley were having fun being silly before anyone else arrived. These two are basically on the same humor level. Haha. They find each other to be quite hilarious. Callahan ate two servings of bran cereal and ate most of raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, bites of toasted whole wheat pita bread, bites of cucumbers, ate avocado, and ate pears. At Lunch time Cal asked me; "How you day Gary?" Excellent. He'd repeat it; I'd say excellent. He finally said, "Say good." Haha. I didn't realize that was why he kept repeating it!!  We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and these two guys were playing with the bunny ears. Miles put it on his head by himself one time, but in the second picture Cal had put it on him. :) Next picture: Miles likes getting in these tight spots and hanging out. Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of pork roast, some whole wheat toast, half of his beets, and ate applesauce.  Callahan and Svea were arguing about giving Alexa instructions. Cal was yelling, "more" and Svea was yelling, "Stop." That was bugging Eden and she came over and asked, "Why are you fighting?" And Cal verbalized it very well. Eden asked, "Do you know rock-paper-scissors?" That hit my funny bone. Oh well, nice try Eden. First picture: Story on the left and Eden on the right were pretending to sleep after Cal arrived and he was intent on waking them. Ha. Second picture: Cal and Miles after a spider - they said they saw one - I never saw it. They ended up jostling for territory that the imaginary (maybe) spider had just vacated. Haha.
