Callahan - 11/30/2020

Image
Callahan ate a large serving of bran cereal and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, and three servings of pears.   First picture:  This may be the first picture I've taken of Cal in the chair and Miles on the outside.  :)  Cal was sitting there waiting expectantly, patiently for the ride that never materialized!!  Haha.  Apparently Miles took a step or two this morning, but I never saw it!  The girls screamed excitedly and that was the end of that!!  Probably scared the poor kid. :)  Following picture: Reading books on the couch with Miles. Next picture:  All five kids here today (Avi is at her Monday Gym Camp) playing on the mattress.  Cal always wants to know who's gonna be here.  "Avi coming? Avi coming?" No, she's at her camp.  "Vey Vey coming?  Vey Vey coming?"  Yes Svea's coming.   Next picture:  Cal was watching Lauralea putting stuffed ...

Callahan ate French toast and strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate whole 30 chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, sweet potatoes, and spices.  He ate whole wheat dinner roll, and ate tropical fruit.   First picture;  Miles in just his diaper.  (seeped through on his onsie) Callahan was so mystified as to why Miles only had on a diaper.  (It's actually a pretty rare occurrence here; Usually just long enough for me to go get clean clothes from the child's cubby.)  Cal kept saying, "Mau Mau, Mau Mau, Mau Mau Diaper."  Over and over.  :) Next picture:  Svea and Cal were running in circles around and around on the mattress and then collapsing like you see in the picture.  Lots of giggles and laughing.  Svea said, "Gary, we're having fun running with our babies."  Following picture;  Cal giving me a love and I was able to get a selfie.  For those super observant ones if the background in this pictu...

Callahan ate a bite of cinnamon raisin English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pork roast, ate whole wheat toast, beets, and applesauce.   First picture:  The city clean-up crew was very busy picking up leaves this morning and the kids were loving it!!  There was 4 different machines for the kids to watch.  Let's just say the activity kind of "upstaged" waving at the Parents this morning.  :)  Daddy Colin made a good choice and went the opposite direction.  Ha. Next picture:  Well you could read yesterday's Blog and see the picture where Cal was pushing Miles in the chair.  Exactly the same scenario and same words.  Cal pushed fast and then said, "My tired. My tired." Haha.  The kids love their routines and as caregivers it makes our job so much more manageable and predictable.  Following picture:  I just think it's adorable when they're sitting tight together on the couch. They only have one to...

Callahan ate whole wheat Chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, half of whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of tomato, ate avocado, and ate mandarin oranges.     We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and the boys were super busy all morning.  In this first picture they happened to be playing with the same pop-up toy.  Callahan was making them pop-up and Miles was pushing them down.  But the cutest part was Cal saying, "Good job Mau Mau! Good job Mau Mau."  If you zoom in on the picture you can see Cal's cute grin.  In the second picture Cal was giving Miles a ride in the chair like usual and he was going pretty fast.  Cal stopped and said, " My tired. "  That's how Svea always refers to herself, but that's the first time I've heard Cal express it that way.   Next picture:  First I'll explain why Cal doesn't have his pants on.  He'd just pooped and we had his pants "airing out" because the...

Callahan ate One bite of oatmeal and ate dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and ate applesauce.  At breakfast Lauralea was standing beside Cal's highchair and Cal started rubbing Lauralea's backside; "Lauralea's butt, Lauralea's butt."  LOL!!  That cracked me up. I decided he was too young to talk about sexual harassment so I enjoyed a good laugh!! :) First picture:  Cal and Miles on the couch with books again.  This only lasts a minute or two minutes, but it makes a good picture right!?  They look very scholarly and this gives the Parents high hopes.  :)  Second picture; Cal managed to stack two of the yellow buckets on top of each other and raised his hand to say, "Ta Da!!"  :) Next picture: Cal slipped over to the igloo and started pulling out the blanket that was covering Avi and Atley in the igloo.  The big girls didn't even yell at him; they just turned it into a...

Callahan ate blueberry bagel and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pork roast, whole wheat tortillas, carrots, and fruit salad.  Speaking of meals the Program Monitor for CACFP (Federal Food Program) wanted to do one of their monitoring sessions today via Zoom.  Haha. Ok, that's fine with me as long as you don't mind the kids doing what kids do!!  I sat the computer on the art supplies cabinet and the three oldest girls were jumping up and down in front of the monitor so the lady could see them.  :)  But she was happy because I had all the proper paper work.  Thank you Parents for faithfully signing in-and-out which is one of several documents she needs to see.   First picture is from yesterday afternoon and Cal gave Miles a ride in the wagon down the sidewalk.  He actually made it down and back and down again.  I turned the wagon around for him.  He gives you rides in the chair AND the wagon Miles.  Se...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate a large serving of hamburger & sausage pizza with meat, peppers, pineapple, tomato sauce, and olives.  He ate whole wheat pizza crust (which we serve separately) and ate pineapple on the side.   First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when I saw the two boys sitting on the couch reading their books.  I did scoot Cal slightly closer to Miles, but that's the only part of this that's staged.  Two things; I like Miles using his foot to mark the page.  Haha.  Secondly I like how both books are upside-down.  Ha.  Very very typical for this age group.  I always say they get twice the mileage from the same book.  :)  I know, I know you've all heard this before with the first child.  Too bad.  Haha.   Next two pictures:  Cal was giving Miles rides in the chair just like every other morning. ...

Callahan ate whole wheat English muffin and ate one dried plum for breakfast.  For lunch he ate bites of chicken, bites of brown rice, half of stir fry vegetables, and ate mandarin oranges.   Ok this next piece is not about Callahan, but I think you'll enjoy it.  At Lunch Time Avi said, "Gary, I feel electricity running through my chair!!"  LOL  Geez that hit my funny bone!  That's simply NOT true Avi AND I've never considered that as a possibility!!  Ha!  My question is obvious Avilene; How do you know what a jolt of electricity feels like!?!  Haha First picture: Callahan and Miles were playing their usual game first thing in the morning; Cal spinning Miles around and around in the chair.  Then Nora (with her superhero mask and cape) joined them for a few minutes and she was pushing considerably faster and Cal LOVED it.  Look at his face.  Pure enjoyment.  He was saying, "This is fun, this is fun, this is fun" and pretty ...

Callahan ate most of cheerios and most of banana for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, whole wheat pita bread, one olive, ate avocado, and two servings of watermelon.     First picture: Callahan and Atley spotted Santa Claus across the street and down a couple of houses.  The blow-up decoration moves, a door opens and Santa sticks his head out the door.  (You can see it if you zoom in.)  Cal was pointing and saying, "Santa. Santa."  Santa is actually sticking his head out of an "outhouse," but I didn't try to explain that part.  Haha.  Second picture:   Lauralea went across the street to the mail box and the kids lined up at the window.  She was going "down the line" and I happened to get this picture when she was in front of Miles. Next picture: I don't think you can see the doll, but Cal has one under his blanket.  This was SO cute!!  He was snuggling his baby like this, singing to it, rocking it, and then he kis...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two bites of hearty paleo stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, and sweet potatoes.  He ate saltines and tropical fruit.   This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  (There's a LOT more snow than this today!!)  You've heard this before, but I like an occasional picture with all 6 kids.  Side Note: We'll try to go outside occasionally in the winter, but by myself it's almost always a challenge.  The three oldest girls can pretty much get themselves ready.  That's only part of the challenge.  We'll get outside and one of the diaper kids poops, someone gets cold, mittens get soaked, then some want to go back inside, some want to stay outside, etc.  So we'll do the best we can.     Next picture:  Callahan was initially just pushing Miles in the chair around and around.  Then Cal ...

Callahan ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, most of tomatoes, ate avocados, and ate cherries.    This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon and I'm posting it for two reasons.  One, the ground was bare of snow.  Ha.  Secondly, all 6 kids were under the parachute.  Which is very unusual and I had to be quick with the camera.  I can't prove all six are there, but you can't prove otherwise!  Haha.  Busy busy day!!  Toy exchange Monday.  In the first picture Callahan is playing with the toaster.  I showed him how to use it and he played with it for a long time.  He'd just hit the "eject" button and you can see the two pancakes in the air.  However, Cal's focus is totally on the button.  :)   Next picture:  Playing with food toys beside Miles.  Miles was balancing the "pancakes" on top of the cup of "orange juice" an...

Callahan ate some brown rice and some raisins for breakfast.  (But only after I mixed them together! Ha.)  For lunch he ate a large serving of hamburger stew with meat, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, and green beans.  He ate half of whole wheat dinner roll and ate fruit cocktail.    Callahan is playing with the food toys and Miles is sitting on the table watching.  Well he's kind of on the table; partially hanging off.  But he did NOT slip off.  This is always the way Miles sits; one leg extended and sitting on the other leg.  Second picture;  I'd just taken off Cal's socks to have better foot traction and he headed for "Mount Igloo."  :) Next picture; Svea was singing "Five Little Ducks" (even though that's not what this book is; but it is about ducks) and she was also head bonking against the back of the couch.  And of course Cal started doing the head bonking too!  I can't believe I got a picture that makes it look like t...
