Callahan ate a large serving of oatmeal and ate baked cinnamon apples for breakfast. For lunch he ate half of his hamburger stew with meat, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, and potatoes. He ate half of whole wheat dinner roll, and ate fruit cocktail.    This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when we were playing outside. The Spring bugs are alive and well and they love to congregate on the garage wall. Miles and Cal were having a grand time stalking the bugs. (Believe me the bugs don't have much to fear from these two fellers! Ha.) Miles is immensely interested, but when a bug actually shows up he gets a bit timid. See the picture and look at his body language. I think I heard him say, "Ok Cal, you can take it from here!!" :) Next picture: Miles was content to sit/lay on the couch while Nora and Cal piled pillows and toys on him. But he got irritated when Cal stretched out like you see in the picture and then kept pushing his head closer and closer to Mil...

Callahan ate French toast and dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and three servings of strawberries. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the "bubble brigade" had their noodles and were waiting for me to start slinging bubbles around!! (And that's basically how it works; no blowing bubbles here! Ha!) I think this is an adorable picture of everyone. Next picture: Callahan said, "Gary, can I have some water?" Atley and Nora were in the Preschool Room and I said, "Hey, would you guys bring the boys some water?" I love how they know exactly where to sit and wait for the water to be delivered. :) Miles is sure understanding language!! The moment Cal asked for water, Miles sprinted to the step and sat down.  Picture: Cal wearing the hat and rabbit ears again in the same format. Ha. If you wear it more than twice we call it a trend; so I'll keep you posted! :) Last picture: Well they ...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on a large serving of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower and fruit salad.  First picture: Cal and Miles asked to do some coloring shortly after arrival and so that's what we did. Nora and Atley were assisting them. I told Nora it works better if you just offer him a choice of maybe 2 markers at a time. A handful is a bit overwhelming!! Haha.  Picture at the window waving bye to Svea and Avi's Daddy Andy. Second picture; (This is not directly about Cal, but he was intently watching the entire thing.) As soon as they were done waving Avi put her cap on Miles' head and it was pretty cute. This is Avi's new cap - and she's pretty fond of her hats anyhow - and she wanted it right back. To Avi's surprise (did not surprise Cal and Gary - haha) Miles did not want to take it off and he started screaming. Oh man, tha...

Callahan ate blueberry bagel and ate three servings of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate shrimp, brown rice, ate bites of broccoli, and ate raspberries. So 5 out of 6 kids (not Avi) are eating their rice soaked in raspberry juice for this meal. They love it that way!!  I'm gonna post this message here and then you'll probably see it 2 or 3 more times in the next two weeks. (Or until you tell me you read it! Ha!) There will NOT be any Blogs the week of May 10th. Lauralea is blessing me by keeping Little Treasures open that week so I can go to Louisiana. I'm flying out on May 8th and home on May 15th. Thank you SO much Lauralea! This first picture is left over from outside yesterday afternoon. Avi, Svea, and Cal were the only kids left and Avi was still "hiding" eggs for the little people. You can see Cal sprinting past the hidden eggs. Ha. Maybe he was helping hide them from Svea. :) Next picture: This was pretty stinking cute if you ask me!! Ha. I like your ...

Callahan ate two servings of bran cereal and ate most of raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, bites of toasted whole wheat pita bread, bites of cucumbers, ate avocado, and ate pears. At Lunch time Cal asked me; "How you day Gary?" Excellent. He'd repeat it; I'd say excellent. He finally said, "Say good." Haha. I didn't realize that was why he kept repeating it!!  We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and these two guys were playing with the bunny ears. Miles put it on his head by himself one time, but in the second picture Cal had put it on him. :) Next picture: Miles likes getting in these tight spots and hanging out. So you can probably guess what Cal was asking him, right!? "Can I come in?!?" "Can I come in?" Can I come in?" Oh sure Cal, there is lots of room, come on in!! :) Silly kids. Last picture: Cal was playing with the food toys, mixing and stirring with the spoons and then Miles joined him fo...

Callahan ate two large bowls of cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast. He ate most of everything at lunch: Chicken, brown rice, broccoli, and pineapple. Yesterday when we were getting ready to go outside for Science I watched Svea telling Cal what was about to happen outside. Svea assumed her "authoritative stance" with her hands on her hips and said, "Maybe we're gonna do bubbles." Haha.  First picture: So just in case anyone thought Miles may not be clearing the top shelf of blocks anymore; here's a picture and it still happens occasionally. Just not everyday like it was for a few months. :) Cal has joined him in the picture, but just prior to this Cal stood back and assumed his job of encouraging Miles to clear the shelf. He was saying, "Do rest of em, do rest of em, do rest of em." Haha. Next picture: This was pretty stinking cute. Cal would push the chair as fast as he could and then stop and say, "Miles do you wanna go ...

Callahan ate a blueberry waffle and ate fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, half of sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.  First picture: The early days of learning Gary's rules when coloring!! Haha. First two rules; we don't put the markers in our mouth. Next rule; we don't color on ourself; just color on the paper. Oops, sorry Miles, busted!! You're in violation of rule number two. :) Cal asked to color and Miles was yelling in agreement. Cal was more interested in "snapping" the markers shut; which is also part of the rule list!! Haha. Good job Cal!! Miles was coloring vigorously for 36.8 seconds. So vigorously in fact his paper flew off the highchair. Ha. Sometimes the coloring sessions are short. :) Second picture: Cal said, "Hey Gary, can I go upside-down?" Sure, go for it. Miles was there on the couch too and took advantage of the opportunity.  Next picture: Theme for Science with Lauralea today was ...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, tomato sauce, and with delicious seasonings. He ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate tropical fruit.   First picture: The boy Miles - he  loves  to fist bump. That's putting it mildly!! I have to fist bump him every day when I lay him in his crib for nap. My favorite is when he wants to fist bump random strangers at the fence by the sidewalk!! Haha. So Miles and Cal were "fist bumping" and then Cal would flop over backwards on the mattress. And Miles would laugh and giggle!! Over and over and over. Next two pictures: Cal apparently likes to hang up his toys. Haha. Dinosaurs and some boots. Ha. He's been doing this with the boots all three days this week. I didn't see who did it on Monday, but he wasn't as sneaky Tuesday and today. Ha.  Next picture: Cal asked to do some coloring; Miles wanted to do i...

Callahan ate half of his English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pork roast, two servings of whole wheat toast, ate beets, and applesauce.   This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and these kids on the balance beam. Miles would squat down on it, then stand up, and immediately charge off of it! Haha. I like the expression on his face if you zoom in. Cal was doing a good job of balancing and standing still. He didn't try to walk on it. Second picture; Also from yesterday and Nora was giving Cal a ride in the stroller. Ha. Cal thought it was wonderful. :) Next picture: Svea has been asking for the play doh and the rest of the kids - except Miles - joined in the fun. Miles will soon be there as well. Following picture: Cal asked to do some coloring and then the stickers. (He hadn't started the stickers when I took the picture.) Svea wanted to show Cal what she likes to do. Every time Svea asks; "Gary, can I put eggs on my head?" I have to pa...

Callahan ate chex cereal and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, two servings of toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, ate avocado, tomato, and two servings of mandarin oranges. First picture; From Friday afternoon. I got some bottles of bubbles and the kids had a blast running and chasing all over the yard! They started asking for bubbles in February!! Ha. We drained almost an entire large bottle on Friday because all of us were having so much fun.  Next picture: I took this picture right after Cal arrived. The first thing he did was get on top of the igloo and Miles went to the corner and started squealing and cheering. Haha. By the way, this is what Cal was doing while the other kids were waving bye to Bubba and Daddy Colin! Ha. Following picture: Miles was pretty distressed that he got left behind when Momma Emily picked up Nora for her Doctor appointment this morning. He wandered around crying and moaning and not much was soothing for him. Then he just laid down ...

Callahan ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate Tilapia, three servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and three servings of applesauce. The last two servings I put the applesauce on top of his elbow noodles. (At his request.) He ate a LOT! Haha. Cal said he wasn't gonna wave at Momma this morning and he followed through with that. Ha. Well at least he wasn't showing partiality this week; he didn't wave at Dad one day either. But the reason I even mention this is because Miles still went to the window and was waving at Maddy and Bubba. AND Miles was saying, "Bubba Bubba Bubba" as you drove by. That's obviously an easy word for him to say because he doesn't say much. Good job Miles.  First picture: Woot woot!! Look who's jumping off the first level of the igloo this morning!! :) Way to be brave Cal!! When I say first level I'm referring to the top of the igloo entrance. That's almost always the natural prog...

Callahan ate blueberry bagel and ate peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of hamburger & sausage pizza with olives, tomato sauce, pineapple, and peppers. He ate whole wheat pizza crust that we serve on the side and ate a serving of pineapple on the side.  First picture: Moments after arrival; he plopped down here and said, "I'm not waving at Dad." Oh come on! "Nope." Goofy guy! :) Second picture: Atley is hard at work getting the tunnel set up into the igloo, Miles is pestering Nora who's already inside, and Cal is busy examining his flashlight; making sure it's functioning well before heading for some spelunking!! Ha! Next picture: Snuggling with Gary. Bet you can't guess what I was trying to get him to say!?!? Haha. Yup, you're right!  Come on Cal, say, "I love Gary!!" The difference between the boys: Cal says it every time and Miles hasn't said it yet. But we're still trying!! Haha. Next picture; What could possib...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, whole wheat tortillas, bite of carrots, half of potatoes, and ate fruit salad.  First picture: Cal was in the igloo by himself for probably 10 minutes and I thought he had a book with him. I lifted up the igloo when I took this picture and asked, "What do you have?" Cal said, "A boot." Haha. And that's what he was playing with; one of the dress-up boots. Silly boy. He was happy as a clam. This next picture is obviously not Cal, but this serving platter with the cake and candles is ALL about Cal. Ha. Svea put this together and then was singing, "Happy Birthday to Cal" as she was walking over to where he was playing. It was super cute and she was so serious about what she was doing. We won't talk about how it was received!! Haha. Last picture; The kids put the tunnel in front of the igloo and covered the entrance with the cozy corner carpet. As u...
