Callahan's Journal

Callahan ate bites of blueberry waffle and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, two servings of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and apple slices. This morning Cal randomly said, "Alexa is still mad at me." LOL! He heard Atley say that last week!  And it surprised me when he came up with it today. He knew he was being funny and he liked it when I cracked up laughing! This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon after Atley showed the boys how to "lead" their dump trucks around with a noodle. Ha. It's actually pretty cute in Live Mode.  Next picture: Atley had Alexa playing "Race Cars" and she and Cal were "racing" back-n-forth across the room. Atley said, "I'm hard to catch in the morning!!" Callahan ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of avocado on ground turkey, two servings of toasted whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomatoes and cherries.   First picture; This is a "castle" that Atley built for everyone to use. Thanks Atley. I overheard this conversation: Cal said, "I'm not happy." Svea said, Then leave the castle." Cal responded immediately!! "I'm happy now." Haha. That was a quick turnaround. When the Queen of the Castle speaks you gotta listen!! :) Next picture; The boys were doing some drawing with markers and then stickers. Sometimes Cal enjoys the markers; today was not one of those days. He'd do a couple of strokes with a color and want to switch. However he really enjoys doing the stickers. Callahan ate half of his oatmeal and a bite of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast. For lunch he ate half  of his hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. He ate half of his whole wheat dinner roll and ate fruit cocktail.    First picture: Avi describing in detail to Cal - who was only sorta kinda interested - how to make "eagle wings" if he ever wanted to. Haha. (You can see both of the wings there.) Following picture: All 6 kids in one picture. I Love this group of children.  Next picture: Svea built most of this "castle" and Nora helped her a bit. Nora said, "I'll be in charge of our castle." Svea was good with that. Svea said, "Can Cal come in? He said he would be nice to us!" Callahan ate two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast. He ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, ate peas, and a bite of cantaloupe.    First two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon when Cal and Svea were having fun playing together. (Even if Cal did say he had a bad day. haha) They built these block walls to privatize the cozy corner. :) Following picture; Then outside they were giving each other rides in the strollers. If Svea would watch where she is going she might have better luck staying on the sidewalk. :) Next picture: I took this picture right after breakfast and I was in the middle of cleaning up Cal so he could get down and go play. Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of a large serving of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower, and ate fruit salad.    This first picture is from yesterday afternoon. This always makes me nervous because I've seen the ball shoot out from under the kids many times!! Of course Cal didn't want to move to the grass. I said, "If I were you I'd sit on that ball in the grass. Then when it pops out from under you the grass will be a softer landing!" Here's what Cal heard: "I want to sit on your ball!"" Hahaha. Cal said, "No it's mine!! I sit on it!" LOL! That made me laugh so hard.  Next picture: Cal yelled out to Svea; "Vay Vay I am pack to go!!" I said, "Where are you going?" For lunch he ate three servings of shrimp, ate brown rice, broccoli, and ate his black raspberries.  Svea brought 4 "Fancy Nancy" books and one book about Nancy teaching her Dad Ballerina lessons. Svea said, "Boys can wear tutus whenever they want; just not to dance class." Cal said, "Ok I won't." Haha.  First picture: Cal joined Svea and Atley doing "Animal Workout" with Alexa. In this picture they were doing "Goose or Gander" and I like the look of determination on Cal's face. In the second picture he and Svea asked if they could wear the dress-up boots outside. Callahan ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken topped with avocado, two servings of whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumbers, and ate pears. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the boys were busy all morning with the new goodies. Here they are playing with the ice cream cones. Second picture: We were looking at some pictures of Miles and Cal said, "Hey! Where is ME!?!" So I flipped it to "selfie-mode" and said, "There ME is!!" Haha. Callahan ate two servings of waffle and three servings of fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, half of sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.  I guess Cal has heard Alexa play lots of John Denver music at Gary's house!! I randomly said, "Almost heaven." And Cal said, "West Virginia." Haha. Good job Cal!! First picture: Cal was here by himself until breakfast so he had Eden all to himself. Callahan ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate half of whole 30 chili with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and tomato sauce. He ate half of whole wheat dinner roll and ate mangoes.  This first picture is from yesterday afternoon. The girls had made this long domino several times and kept knocking it over until they got tired of it. Then they wandered off and left it so Cal, Miles, and I took advantage of it. I pushed it over and the boys were watching. You can see the yellow blocks are in the middle of falling over. :) Yesterday Story got the boys interested in the legos and today Cal built and interesting structure.  The boys were doing some Art this morning - markers and then stickers. I took this picture because Miles was pointing at something he'd drawn and he said a sound that I heard as "spider." Haha! I said, "Did you draw a spider?" That got Cal's attention!! Look at Cal's face....

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of pork roast, some whole wheat toast, half of his beets, and ate applesauce.  Callahan and Svea were arguing about giving Alexa instructions. Cal was yelling, "more" and Svea was yelling, "Stop." That was bugging Eden and she came over and asked, "Why are you fighting?" And Cal verbalized it very well. Eden asked, "Do you know rock-paper-scissors?" That hit my funny bone. Oh well, nice try Eden. Callahan ate corn chex cereal and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef topped with avocado, ate bites of whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.   Our Granddaughters - Story and Eden - are here this week and Cal was the only Daycare child here for the first 45 minutes. :) He was having fun with their undivided attention!! Eden is pestering him in the first picture and Story is reading books for them in the second picture. Lauralea took off work Monday and Tuesday and she took the girls "geo-caching" after breakfast.  So until 11:30 Cal and Svea were the only kids here. They played together the entire time and had very minimal conflict - especially when Cal was willing to obey orders. Haha. Actually Svea was flexible as well. In the second picture she did not want to sit in the sun on the airplane. "I don't want the sun in my eyes." But she allowed him to have the shaded seat. Ha.  Next picture: Svea yelled, ...
