Callahan's Journal

Callahan ate a large serving of French toast covered and mixed with a large serving of strawberries for breakfast. He and Miles love it that way! For Lunch he ate Ground beef, most of whole wheat elbow noodles, most of his peas, and ate applesauce.   Everyone  was super happy to see the Hansen kids back today. Atley and Nora immediately were jabbering and laughing and ready to play! When the kids were at the window waiting to wave bye to Daddy Ryan and Daddy Colin, Atley was in "Making Nora Laugh Mode!" Haha. She was banging her forehead on the window just so Nora would laugh. Goofy kid! I've seen that a  few  times!! :) First Picture: This is the first thing Miles and Callahan did; play one of their favorite games. They pretend it's a "door" and knock on it and peek around at each other. Then they change positions becasue you can only knock on one side! Ha. Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of his Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower. He ate saltines and pineapple/mango.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when we were experimenting with the balloon on a string activity again. The balloon releases it's air and propels itself down the string. The kids were enjoying having their own balloons and trying to blow them up. Hudson (partially hidden), Avi, and Atley are all blowing up their balloons in the picture. I also blew up balloons for Svea and Cal. Next picture: Atley was here when Callahan arrived and he joined her as she was carefully arranging her "store." Ha. She had everything laid out in a very orderly fashion. Callahan ate bites of blueberry waffle and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken, ate whole wheat tortilla, corn, and ate his applesauce. First picture; I took this at breakfast and it was fun to listen to the kids! (Nora and Miles will be back on Thursday.) They were watching the pictures on the digital frame and basically reminiscing. There were pictures of me feeding Callahan with a bottle, first time Svea sat upright, a very young Atley, and a very young Avi. Lots of laughing, giggling, and talking about each picture. Again, this was lots of fun for me as well!  We had a visitor this morning as our furnace maintenance guy was here for the yearly checkup. Cal was fine with that - from a distance. Ha. Next picture; Atley is reading to Svea and Cal while they are waiting for Avilene to hide the eggs. Ha. I wonder how many times they've hidden those eggs!?! :) The two little ones were happy to see Atley - she was here 1 day in November - and it was nice of her...

Callahan ate most of his kix cereal and ate a large serving of fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground turkey covered with a large serving of avocado. He ate two servings of toasted whole wheat sandwich thins, ate bite of tomato, and ate his cherries. Cal was the only one here all morning and the Nelson girls will be here later this afternoon. He did fine as I kept him pretty busy, but there will be more kids here the rest of the week. I also want to mention we had a lovely Christmas and I hope you all did as well. Cal seemed very pleased with his "pink goggles" he said he got for Christmas. Haha. The weather in Louisiana was rainy for the first day and the rest of the time it was wonderfully warm during the daytime. The first thing we did this morning was receive a Face Time call from the Nelson girls in P-Burg. :) That was super cute and super fun. We probably talked to them for at least 15 minutes or more. Callahan ate two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of his pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, bites of peas, and ate mixed fruit; mangos and strawberries. Just a reminder for everyone and also for any Blog readers who may not be aware of Christmas closure plans. Little Treasures will be closed tomorrow, Friday the 17th and reopen on Monday December 27th. So the next Blog will be that Monday; 27th. Callahan ate two servings of toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate most of his ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, bites of cauliflower, and most of fruit salad.   So Cal and Miles were at the window waving bye to Daddy Ryan. It's so funny because Parents see them waving, but have no idea what the kids are saying. Sometimes it's about dogs, birds, moon, sun, snow, rain, people, cars, trucks, fighting for position, etc, etc... Today Cal was perplexed as Ryan drove around the corner in "Emily's Car." Cal said, "He took the Mom's car. He have to take the truck." Hahaha. Here's some pictures of the boy's play before breakfast and before Svea arrived. Callahan ate most of his blueberry bagel and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate shrimp, brown rice covered with mixed berries and the juice, and he ate a couple bites of his broccoli.   First picture: Cal and Miles snuggled on my lap for the longest time this morning. From 8:10 - 8:50 when Svea arrived; and neither of them got down during that time!! We rocked in the chair and listened to Christmas songs and watched people go by out the window. It was pretty awesome and I think all 3 of us enjoyed it. I know I did!! :) A school bus went by and of course Miles called it a "beep beep." Cal said, "School Bus" and so Miles called it a "bus." First time I've heard him do that. In the picture they were looking at Mickey Mouse that's on my shirt. Callahan ate bran cereal and several raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken covered with avocado, bites of whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumber, and ate his pears. I asked him if he had a wonderful fun birthday weekend and apparently "Mac-n-Cheese" was the highlight! Haha. (He told Molly Nelson the same thing.) He never said any thing else about the weekend! A random comment by Cal; "My Dad likes football." What does your Mom like? Cal said, "The News." That hit my funny bone!! Poor Mommy. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Cal wanted to do some puzzles. First picture; He did this one first and was successful. Good work Cal. Callahan ate cream of wheat cereal and no dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of chicken, and some brown rice, some broccoli, and some pineapple. Yesterday afternoon Svea and Cal were in the cozy corner and I asked her what they were doing. (I already knew.) Svea said, "We're trying to be sneaky." Ha. At least she was being truthful! She was showing him the unicorn on her panties. Ha. I took this first picture when we were waiting for Momma Emily to come around the corner. And this is why I watch for you; they'd never last long enough at the window to see you coming. They were giving each other "5" then it turned into fist bumping and that was starting to escalate of course! I saw a bare knuckle fistfight coming! Haha. Thank goodness Momma showed up at the right time. Second picture; I had the boys busy coloring while I was fixing the cereal for breakfast. Callahan ate half of his waffle serving and ate strawberry/mango for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, no sweet potatoes, and ate cherries. This is about all three of the kids: I love how Svea expresses herself. We were doing books and initially she didn't want to sing. (Which was just fine!) She said, "I wanna suck; I don't wanna sing!" LOL! Then Miles started singing with me and well let's just say she forgot all about her thumb!!  Svea said, "Gary!! Cal  said  RUDE to Miles!" (Ha.) Cal denied that one; "No I didn't!" Svea; "Yes you did! I heard you!!" Cal was most likely correct; he probably acted rude;  not  saying rude. Ha. The boys like to mix their strawberries and French toast together and this morning Svea joined them! Cal ate two large servings of French toast and strawberries. For lunch he ate bites of his serving of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, sweet potatoes, and spices. He ate half of his whole wheat dinner roll and ate mango/pineapple.  First picture: Cal was the first one here and he had just finished getting a drink and was watching Lauralea in the kitchen. So she asked him if he wanted to sit and watch her for awhile. :) Well of course he does! So I sat his chair up for him and they kept each other entertained for probably 15 - 20 minutes.  Next picture wearing the head piece of the "cow suit." Svea said, "That looks really good Cal!!" Just an FYI: Cal's coughing is not nearly as bad as yesterday. Thank Goodness. I took this first picture shortly after arrival when Cal and Miles were doing some coloring with the markers. I asked Cal; "Are you gonna use just one color all day?" Cal said, "Yes, I'm making all rainbows!" Haha. Look at his face; he was totally being silly. Speaking of silliness; he was also being silly when he said, "Grandpa Gary! You're silly!" Haha. You got that right Buddy!!
