Callahan's Journal

Cal arrived late and said he'd ate breakfast at home and wasn't hungry. For lunch he may have had a bite of chicken (I didn't see it happen - ha), ate his whole wheat toast, ate green beans, and applesauce. Atley and Cal were the only ones here this morning. Atley just left so now it's only Cal and he's taking a nap. In the first picture Cal was laughing hard at Atley as she was jumping around the room on her knees. Dang that looked painful!! But he was laughing and she wasn't about to stop! Haha. You can see her ponytail flying as she's bouncing! Next two pictures: Cal was playing with the medium sized pieces of wood on the patio; yesterday he was using the small ones. I liked some of the shapes he was doing. Then he decided to see how tall he could make a "tower." (His words.) He dropped a fairly large piece on his toe and that was painful. But after howling for a minute he was right back to work. It was making Atley very nervous and she kept war...

Callahan ate blueberry bagel and three large servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of hamburger & sausage pizza with meat, pineapple, peppers, olives, and tomato sauce. He ate whole wheat toast and ate pineapple on the side. First picture: Well the boys were up to their usual tricks and silliness. Same as yesterday, taking turns pushing each other off the balance beam. Surprisingly they can do this for a relatively long time before having conflict. Cal said, "Miles, it takes a lot of practice to do this!!" Haha. Second picture: Cal put on a mask and of course Mile immediately asked me to help him get a mask on. Then they were trying to decide who was the "bad guy." Miles lifted up his mask and said, "Oh Hi Cal!!" Like he didn't know who it was! Ha. We went outside and the boys decided to play "Hide and Seek." And it was very typical for this age of kids. Miles told Cal, "I'm gonna hide right here!"...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, whole wheat tortillas, ate carrots, potatoes, and mango/strawberries. First picture: Micala stopped by for a few minutes yesterday and her baby is growing and SO cute. Cal was very interested in Paisley. He was handing her a food toy and said, "Here you go." Second picture: Svea and Nora had just relocated their "house" and of course the boys were peering inside monitoring their progress. Cal was whispering to Miles about "stealing their babies." Haha. Goofballs. You can see Nora's legs as she's standing on the block cabinet monitoring the situation!! You boys are living dangerously!! Then the boys declared they were "gonna fight em!" Did I mention these boys are Goofballs!?! Haha. Next picture: First thing this morning Miles and Cal was going off the balance beam backwards and I was cringing watching their heads bounce on the mattres...

Callahan ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, no brown rice, bite of squash, and ate mandarin oranges. "Yukky" and "Gross" were the most common adjectives for the squash. Haha.  Cal telling me about last night at home: "Gary, when I was taking a bath I plug my nose like this, and then I put my head underwater." "And I could even touch the bottom with my hand." Haha. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Cal stuck one of the food toys - banana - into the end of a doll bottle. (The bottle is broken and the end is open.) He was pretty proud of his invention!! "Hey Gary! Look! I made a gun shooter!!" Ha. Next picture: Well this is a classic example of "When the cats are away, the mice will play!!" The girls guarded their jewelry boxes and jewels very closely this morning, but the boys were ready to pounce. Especially Cal! It was driving him nuts...

Callahan ate cheerios and banana for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of ground beef topped with avocado, ate whole wheat pita bread, two servings of olives, and ate his cantaloupe. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and as usual the kids were busy and engaged all morning. First picture: Svea had at least 2 of the purses and Cal showed up and said, "Here's another purse." Svea said (with much authority), "That is NOT a purse Cal. That is a wallet." :)  I took the secsond picture when they were doing this magnetic activity moving the colored buttons around the board.. Next picture: This was actually quite funny and if you zoom in on Cal you can see what he's doing. He was making loud "Piggy sounds" (their words) in Svea's ear and they were laughing like it was the funniest thing ever. Finally she said, "Will you STOP!!?!!" Haha. Later he was using the name "Bob" for everything and she said, "Cal...

Callahan ate bites of brown rice and no raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of salmon, two servings of whole wheat dinner roll, ate green beans, and ate mangoes. At lunch Cal said, "How's your salmon Miles?" Isn't that the cutest? Like a couple of old guys. First picture: Cal waiting at the window to wave bye at Dad. He was chanting; "I'm a Yapper and I yap yap yap." Haha. (You're welcome!) Then I heard Cal doing a "knock knock" joke with Miles.  Cal: "Knock Knock." Miles; "Who's there?" Cal: "Bob." Miles: "Bob Who?" Cal: "Bob, who almost pooped on your head." Then they laugh like it's the funniest thing they've ever heard. Ha. I was impressed how they did the "knock knock" joke correctly. Callahan ate two servings of toasted whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, most of his whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and ate applesauce. At meal time, usually breakfast, Svea will go wash her hands in the bathroom and come out and say, "Gary! I gotta go potty!" This is a frequent occurrence. This morning she said that and Cal said, "Well hurry up!! Your milk's gonna get cold!!" Hahaha. That made me roar. Funny Guy. He knew he'd said a funny one and he was grinning all over. First picture: The boys have enjoyed playing with the cars on the hardwood floors and they sure work better on the hard wood. In the second picture they were running and running playing chase. When they got tired of that Miles said, "Ok, now we fight!!" Haha. Callahan ate two servings of French toast casserole and strawberries mixed together for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, green beans, and carrots. He ate two servings of saltines and ate tropical fruit. Cal was inviting Miles to come to "my cabin" on Flathead Lake. "Miles you wanna come to my cabin?" Miles was all happy and ready to head to the cabin. He asked Cal, "Do I have to fly there?" Haha. That was a great question! Which Cal promptly ignored. Cal was more interested and focused on telling Miles about the sleeping arrangements. "You come and I'll show you the bunkbed!" Haha. Callahan ate waffle and ate a large serving of grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat tortillas, corn, and two servings of apples. Doing Pretend Games . Svea and Nora were doing these beautiful elaborate dance maneuvers floating silently and gracefully around the floor of the Preschool Room. Meanwhile the boys, Cal and Miles, were in the Daycare Room doing their own games; pretending to Poop on each other's heads. Classy Suckers. LOL! Note to Parents of Boys: Maybe lower your expectations ever so slightly!! (Just kidding, but basically true.) Callahan ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey topped with avocado, ate toasted whole wheat sandwich thins, most of his tomatoes, and ate cherries.  First picture: We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange last week while Cal was gone so here are a couple pictures of him playing with the "new stuff!" There is a "Super Hero" theme in this set and he put the Captain America hood on and said, "Aye Aye Captain!!" Haha. Look at Cal's shirt; he chose the right shirt for this toy exchange!! :) Second picture: Cal also played with the battery-powered cars. I also see he's wearing some Batman slippers!! Callahan ate a large serving of cream of wheat cereal and no dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate no chicken, bite of brown rice, ate most of his broccoli, and half of his pineapple. Yesterday afternoon at Snack we were eating crackers, raisins, and apples bites. I also had some oyster crackers and Cal asked a very logical question about the "oyster crackers." "Gary, do these come from the ocean?" No they do not, but that's a good question. :) First picture: Does this look familiar? If you said "no" you've not read the Blogs this week. Haha.
