Callahan ate two bites of brown rice and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate salmon, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, half of cauliflower, and ate mangoes. First picture: I sprayed water on his head and combed his hair before the photo session!!  Haha!  I did notice he has quite the awesome comb-over!!  The only thing missing is a bald spot!!  Haha!  He was watching Linnea and giggling when I took the picture. Cal likes hanging out by Miles when Miles is on the floor.  Cal does pretty well at being gentle as far as not hitting or doing anything intentional.  He may roll over on top of Miles (second picture), "but hey, Miles is just another toy laying on the floor for my amusement!!"   I like this last picture!  I bet you can guess what he is laying here saying; repeating over and over!!  Guess before you peek at the answer at the bottom of the picture!!  :) He kept saying, "Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi...." ...

Callahan ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch he ate bites of everything; ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. Today it was Linnea's turn to realize Callahan is walking!!  Ha!  "Gary! Cal's walking!! Cal's walking Gary!!  (No, actually Cal was not walking Gary. He forgot my leash.)  This is how it always happens with this age group!!  And it always makes me laugh! This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when Avilene was walking around with Cal.  (The picture makes it look like they were dancing.)  She did this for several minutes with him, which was very sweet of her, and he was NOT ready to quit when she was done.  He had a tight grip on her fingers and she had to pry his fingers off.  Haha! Next two pictures; The kids were waving bye to a parent. About the same time the neighbor across the street came out to walk his boys to school. ...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and one or two bites of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate a few bites of Paleo Stew with meat, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans.  He also ate some saltines and tropical fruit. I had a third picture of Cal from this morning, but it didn't want to download to my computer so the Blog will be a bit short today.  Callahan had his usual good morning.  He played steady all morning until he started getting tired about 11:00.  So we ate lunch a few minutes early.  In the first picture he is handing different toys to Miles. This last picture is pretty cute.  Atley is really the only kid that talks about Callahan walking.  Here she is watching his progress.  I like the contrast with Linnea to the left.  Linnea was WAY more interested in her bandaid than anything else happening in the room.  Haha!  Atley had (again) yelled out the news;  "Cal is...

Callahan ate waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and a few baked cinnamon apples. Atley saw Cal walking this morning and said, "Hey Gary! He's walking! ---  Hey, he's still walking!!"  LOL!  I guess she was surprised because previously he hasn't been staying upright very long!  :)  Good work Cal!! Svea squealed on Cal this morning!!  "Gary! Cal put it (legos flower) in Cal's mouth!!"  Oh man I roared laughing!!  That cracked me up!  That is such a classic case of the "pot calling the kettle black."  Svea is at the top of the charts when it comes to "toys in mouth!!"  :) Here are some pictures from Cal's morning.  First picture: Linnea was playing with the two school buses, but she's not watching so Cal made a clean swipe!!  Good job Cal!  Now run!!!  Second picture - hanging out at the sink using the book rack as a step-s...

Callahan ate some kix cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch he ate turkey burger, whole wheat hamburger bun, most of tomatoes, ate avocado, and one bite of cherries. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and I took this first picture before 8:00.  Linnea and Callahan were totally engaged in all the fun and exploration!!  Linnea has on four pieces of dress-up clothes and these two have already cleared the two top shelves on the right.  :) Next picture: This is the first day I've seen Cal actually take off walking several times!!  And he's doing so with much more confidence!!  Good work Callahan!!  You can tell that he's way more comfortable is the process. Last picture; I put the head band on Cal, but only because he was first trying to put it on himself.  And he knew where it was meant to go!!  I remember putting a head band - probably this same one - on Bubba!!  Haha!!  You can ...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and tasted a dried plum for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and strawberries. These first two pictures are left over from Wednesday afternoon.  Callahan had initiated playing peek-a-boo with me and it was super cute.  He was using the dress-up cloths rack to peek around and then go inside of it.  If you zoom in on the second picture you can see a little eyeball peeking out at me!! He was giggling, laughing, and having lots of fun and so was I.  :) Here are a couple pictures from Callahan's activities this morning.  I see he still has both booties and both socks on so I took these pictures fairly early.  :)  Linnea was busy building with the legos and Cal was standing in the drawer shuffling his feet.  It's fun and noisy - which makes it so much fun!! Last picture: Callahan has a cup in his hand and he's trying to give Miles a drink.  Or dump liquid o...

Callahan ate whole wheat toast, ate mangoes and two servings of banana for breakfast.  (We ran out of mangoes so we substituted bananas for second servings.)  For lunch he ate most of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles.  He also ate most of cauliflower and ate fruit salad. To anyone following Callahan's Daily Blog:  There will be NO Blog tomorrow, February 20th, as I have to report to Jury Duty tomorrow morning.  It's in Municipal Court so I don't anticipate this lasting more than a day at the most.  (Hopefully!) First picture: All four girls (Avi, Atley, Linnea, Svea) are in the igloo (you'll just have to take my word for it - haha) and Cal was invited to join them.  Now as you can imagine he didn't hang out in there very long, but he was there!!  Ha!!  Too crowded!! Next two pictures: Cal with the legos and Cal at the sink.  (Standing in the book rack.)  Sometimes these Blogs sound an...

Callahan ate whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate most of shrimp, ate bites of whole wheat toast, most of stir fry vegetables, and ate his raspberries. I burned the brown rice so we substituted toast for lunch.  Atley said, "I don't like that smell!!"  It was pretty rank, I agree!  :) First picture:  Miles was the first one here this morning and I put him in the saucer while I was putting away dishes and doing other things in the kitchen.  And set him so he could watch me.  Then when Callahan came I moved Miles closer to the gate so he and Cal could interact. Next picture: The four girls; Avi, Atley, Linnea, and Svea barricaded themselves in the igloo.  Or maybe it was built to keep Callahan out!  He really didn't want to be in the igloo anyhow!!  He was way more fixated on attaining one of the flashlights they had.  And that is what he was reaching for around the blocks when I took thi...

Callahan ate some cream of wheat cereal and tasted the dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch he had several bites of a chicken combination with cabbage, sweet potatoes, and Brussel sprouts.  He ate a bite of brown rice and a large serving of pineapple. These first two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon.  Drinking from the faucet!  Ha!  This is a play sink with NO attached water in case someone is concerned!!  (Tu Tu - Haha!)  Hey Tu Tu, When I looked at this picture I decided Cal had been watching Daddy and Pappy get drinks from the faucet!!  :)  Second picture is from yesterday afternoon as well.  He was just experimenting with how far backwards he could lean and thankfully he didn't lose his grip. Next picture;  Lauralea was leaving for work and giving everyone hugs and loves.  Here's Cal waiting for his turn.  But here's what you don't see: As soon as Lauralea got down to give him a love he whirled ...

Callahan ate waffle and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch he ate turkey meat loaf, a few whole wheat tortillas, bite of sweet potatoes, and half of cherries. Callahan had a typical morning for him.  He's always in a great mood when he arrives and loves to be silly and interact with everyone.  By 11:00, when I start heating up the food to put on the plates, he's getting pretty tired and letting me know he's ready to eat and sleep!!  In addition to exploring the room and all the things he can find to do, he also LOVES to watch the other kids.  And of course that's a primary way they learn LOTS of different things.  (Mostly good things!!  Ha!) Here's a picture of Cal watching Atley and Linnea play with the building blocks and some dress-up clothes.  Yesterday I was taking a picture of Avi jumping and spinning off the igloo and it wasn't until I was studying the pictures that I realized Cal was sitting on the mattress and in ev...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, and spices.  He had no whole wheat dinner roll and ate tropical fruit. This week Cal has been handing his booty to me whenever one comes off.  He loses at least one everyday and he's figured out what to do with it!!  :)  Very cute and I like it. First picture: So one puzzle is not nearly challenging enough!!  He goes for three puzzles at a time and mixes the pieces all together!!  Ok, now this will make it more interesting!!  I only take advanced children at Little Treasures.  :) These next two pictures go together.  He was going down the steps head-first.  I grabbed the camera and got very end of his descent!  He saw me taking a picture and he just sat there and grinned at me.  I think this is a cute little smile.  It looked like...

Callahan ate whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate some pork roast, bites of whole wheat toast, taste of beets, and ate applesauce. First picture; I took this pic just because I thought he looked cute gazing out the window.  There wasn't any person or animal around that I could see, but he was still waving.  Just in case someone appeared!  Ha! Second picture: Cal was standing at the mirror hanging on to the rail.  Then he let loose to make it to the igloo.  He's been doing this for 2 or 3 weeks now.  And this is the only spot in the house where he does it!! Next picture: Linnea was absent yesterday so this is "toy exchange Monday" for her.  She was exploring everything and Callahan was there to offer any assistance she needed.  And some assistance she didn't need or want!!  :) Last picture: This was very cute.  Avilene said, "Hey Gary! Look! Cal is doing "ring around the rosy!"  ...

Callahan ate bites of oatmeal and bites of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce. First picture; Cal was keeping an eye on Atley and Linnea building their wall.  Second picture: He was still hanging around in the general area after everyone else had departed!!  All 4 "big" kids had been building there too.  If you zoom in on the second picture you can see the expression on his face. He was working VERY hard to move some blocks too. Next picture: Now he's watching Linnea again.  She was feeding her baby and playing with the food toys.  I think Cal's doing very well here NOT grabbing toys that the other kids are playing with.  Of course they yell too so he's picking up cues from them as well.  :) Last picture: And I'm also happy and impressed that he's not terrorizing Baby Miles.  I no longer keep Miles behind a protective fence and I'm trusting Cal more al...
