Callahan ate brown rice and ate raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate no chicken, no whole wheat dinner roll, no cauliflower, and ate fruit cocktail. This first picture is shortly after Cal arrived and he asked if he could do puzzles again. You bet! I love the fact that he's showing more interest in doing some of the basic activities in the Preschool Room. Who's missing from this picture!?! Svea is, that's who!! He didn't want her hovering over him today doing puzzles so she was in the Cozy Corner upset, but Miles was busy distracting her!! Ha. (She was soon reading to Miles while Cal continued to do several more puzzles.) Second picture: Cal was still eating breakfast and Svea got the camera ready to take a picture. Just one small problem. Notice which direction she has the camera pointed. The old fashioned way of taking a selfie!! :) Next picture: So after breakfast He wanted to do more Preschool activities and he's sorting dinosaurs from this toy set!! He match...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of ground beef, ate whole wheat elbow noodles, ate his peas/carrot mix, and ate applesauce. Initially he was picking out the peas, but he ended up eating the carrots too. Nice job Cal. Cal told me; "TuTu is the Grandma. Pappy is the Grandpa." I said, "That's really cute Cal. I'm gonna put that down." He said, "In my Blog?!?" :) Yes, in your Blog and here it is.  The boys were running to the window to wave bye at Emily and Miles' number one concern was making sure that Cal knew it was "Me Mom! Me Mom! Me Mom!" Haha. It cracks me up and they ALL do that!! I remember one little Boy at the window looking at his waving competitor and said, "That's my Stinking Dad!!" Oops, I think that was most likely a "Gary-ism!" First picture: Cal and Miles were on each side of me on the couc...

Callahan ate three large servings of French toast topped with three large servings of strawberries for breakfast. (The boys love it that way! And they remember every time! "Put this on top of that!") For lunch Cal ate a couple bites of Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He ate saltines and mangoes/pineapple.   First picture - Svea is taking a picture of the boys this morning. She told Cal where to stand and Miles joined them. At least for a few moments. (Miles took off shortly after I took this picture.) Cal was saying, "Cheese, cheese, cheese." Following picture: Svea had built this "boat" and the kids were filling it with their food. (For a journey I'm thinking!) They were into the "boats" this mooning. Later Cal was "riding" on three or four blocks he'd hooked together and that was his "boat" too. Next picture: Cal had requested Alexa to p...

Callahan ate half of his waffle and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, two servings of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and two servings of apple slices.  As I've mentioned many times I frequently - basically daily - ask the kids what they did "last night." So today it was funny to listen to Svea quizzing Cal. "Cal, what did you do last night?" He said, "I watch the show." So she started asking about "specific" days; "What did you do yesterday?" "What did you do Friday?" "What did you do Thursday?" My favorite; "What did you do tomorrow?" Haha. He started giving silly answers to every question. I was in the swivel/rocker by the mattress and Cal started clearing the stuffed animals off the mattress. Every time he'd turn his back I'd toss some back onto the mattress. He eventually saw what I was doing, but it was pretty funny (to me - haha) up to that point!! First picture; The b...

Callahan ate kix cereal and fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate three servings of ground turkey topped with avocado each time, ate whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and cherries. First picture: We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so there were lots of things to choose from!! Cal had these "binoculars"that have several animal, bird, and scenery pictures. He was identifying most of the animals, but misidentification always makes me giggle. He was looking at a squirrel and said, "I see a rabbit." Then he said, "I see a building." It was one of the big archways in Arches National Park Utah. I agreed and told him it was "nature's building." His comments were very cute. Next picture: Svea asked, "Can Lulu visit us today?" We haven't been visited by Lulu for a long time; although she does sit on the shelf so the kids can see her. She's kind of creepy looking when she opens her mouth; from the sideview...

Callahan ate two servings of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate half of his cauliflower, and ate fruit salad.   This first picture is from yesterday afternoon. Svea and Cal are both on their phones and is sounded like they were inviting Nora and Sophie Boyle to their picnic. Super cute.  Next picture: The happy couple!! Haha. Well if you look closer, maybe not real happy. Haha. (You can see Miles protesting with his elbow!!) Miles was laying there with his toy and Cal moved in and scooted closer and closer. And of course Cal knew Miles wasn't too thrilled. :) Following picture; More hide-n-seek similar to yesterday. And in the same location. Miles at the top of the picture and Cal at the bottom. Silly boys. It's a little crazy around here today - just in case you had any doubts!! Haha. The excitement level of the three Kindergarten Girls has been high and extra high! So the Blo...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of pulled pork, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, ate peas/carrots, and two servings of strawberries.  I love stories about young children who are only capable of "concrete thinking." In our English language we use LOTS of phrases that I would call a "play on words." The phrase or word means something different than the original meaning. One obvious example; "raining cats and dogs." (That example is probably an old school phrase!!) Here's an example of concrete thinking, but with a twist. We were watching a man pedal a bicycle with no hands. I said, "Look Ma! No hands." (Old school again.) Cal was very very serious when he pointed at my hands and said, "You DO have hands. Right there." I love that. This picture is left over from yesterday afternoon - Cal's shirt was a bit wet from nap "overflow" so it was in the d...

Callahan ate bites of blueberry bagel and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of shrimp, ate brown rice soaked in berry juice, ate broccoli, and three servings of mixed berries. Here's a note left over from yesterday morning. I was filling out a form and I said something about "today is Monday" and Cal started singing. "Up with Montana boys, down with the Monday." Haha. Isn't that funny!?! He asked me this morning if we could read books and I said, "As soon as everybody is here we'll read books." I was writing notes on some paper and he asked, "After you color that can we read books!?" Haha! So you probably can guess what he kept asking me; "Is everybody here, Is everybody here?" Miles came; "Is everybody here?" Svea came; "Is everybody here?" Yes, but now it was breakfast time. (By the way we read LOTS of our "Special" books after breakfast!!) When Svea arrived she had no ...

Callahan ate bran cereal and bites of raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, two servings of green beans, and two servings of pears. At breakfast I'd put the wrong lids on the right cups. Ha. Cal said, "Gary messed up!" Haha. Cal and Svea were in a conflict over toys. I gave them my little speech - always short and to the point with this age group!! "There are LOTS of toys for everyone SO find a toy nobody is playing with!!" They've heard that sentence many times. Two seconds after I finished my sentence Miles - he'd been sitting and listening to the whole thing - yelled, " MINE!! " LOL!! Dang Toddlers!! :) So speaking of Toddlers here they are in the first picture: They were on hands and knees back and forth across the room as fast as they could go. They'd been running back and forth - diving into the couch face-first and then they decided to crawl. Lots of laughing and having fun. My favorite sounds!! Nex...

Callahan ate oatmeal and half of his dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, two servings of whole wheat toast, beets, and three servings of applesauce.  Svea and Cal were the only ones here this morning so it was more quiet than usual, but we had a good time. At least I did and I think they did too! Haha. First picture; Cal worked on some puzzles before Svea came and he did great with them. This is a more challenging puzzle than the ones he's been doing and he was successful. Second picture; The 2-sided block wall was standing from yesterday and Svea instructed Cal to push it over. He did and then they both tried to push it sideways like you see in the picture. I'd woven the blocks together pretty tightly with the other wall (on the floor) and they both pushed and pushed, but had to take it apart piece by piece. So I'm on to a 2nd career in construction. Ha.  Svea started packing the blocks - one at a time - across the room to build something differen...

Callahan ate bites of his waffle and ate mangoes/strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate two servings of ground turkey, ate whole wheat tortillas, most of his sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.   These first two pictures go together and were probably taken 20 minutes apart. Cal said, "I'm blocking Miles." Ha. Miles wasn't aware of that plan and didn't care. He was too busy doing "Face Plants" on the mattress. Haha. Silly kids. Svea was not an "active" participant here. Her position was strictly an "advisory" role. Haha. Check out her face in the second picture! She said, "Cal, that's not how you do it." Haha. By that time Miles was helping build his own barricade to keep him "out" or maybe "in." I never did figure out the initial plan!! Hahaha. Next picture: Cal sorting and matching colors again and doing a great job. The one he has in his hand; he asked; "Is this one orange Gary!?!" ...

Callahan ate two servings of French toast and a ate fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of spices. He ate whole wheat dinner roll, and mangoes. First thing this morning when he was the only child here we had Alexa playing "Up with Montana Boys, down with the Foe." (I'm wearing a University of Montana T-shirt and that's what started it!) I loved Cal's version because it was always " up with the foe." Haha. "Up with Montana boys, Up with the foe." Then once he sang, "Good ole grizzlies, up with the foe." I love how musical he is!!  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when these two guys were the only ones here. Cal was giving Miles rides in the wagons and then loaded the big balls in there too. They followed me into the front yard to get sprinklers and hoses and they thought it was another "field trip....
