Callahan ate a large serving of cheerios and ate banana serving for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef topped with avocado, most of whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, and a large serving of peaches. First picture; We did a toy exchange this weekend and Svea and Cal were wearing some dress-up clothes. Svea kept that dress and those shoes on all morning. Following picture; Well Svea is back so things are gonna be a little more organized than last week!! Haha. She has all the food laid out in a certain order and sternly lets the boys know to NOT mess with it until she gives some mysterious unknown signal. Ha. Svea said, "We are going on a camping adventure!" I said, "Well that's a great plan." Svea said, "Yes, I thought it in my head." :) Next picture: Cal enjoyed looking at the different Preschool Activities in this toy exchange. What are you building Cal? He said, "I'm building a rocket!" Nice. He randomly said, "What you doing ...

Callahan ate half of brown rice and half of his raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of salmon, ate whole wheat dinner roll, bites riced sweet potato/cauliflower, and ate peaches. This first picture is basically the first thing the boys did after waving bye to Momma Emily at the window. (Just an FYI, the Blog pictures are generally in chronological order.) And the kids frequently go right to the thing they like the best or at least in their top five!! :) Cal and his Tinker Toys; making various weapons and lots of sound effects! Miles was thinking about sorting the colored bears, but look where his focus is actually directed! Ha. Moments after I took the picture he was doing puzzles. Next picture: Fun with the tape measures. I asked, "How tall is Miles?" So Cal measured him and said, "51 Inches." Haha. I guess we'll work on the concept of "width and height" at a later date! Ha! Following picture: Back at the Doll House. Cal was busy p...

Callahan ate toasted cinnamon/raisin English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, half of his whole wheat elbow noodles, half of his peas, and ate applesauce. Lauralea covered for me - for about 30 minutes before breakfast - while I went to the Optometry office to pick up my glasses. This first picture is what Cal was doing when I was preparing to leave. :) Lauralea took the second picture and she'd helped Cal see how to balance everything on the boat. She pointed at good spots to put the pieces and he put them all on the boat. Good job Cal. Right before Breakfast Miles was pointing at the basket of Easter eggs. "Hide eggs!? Hide eggs!? Hide eggs!?" I said, "Not right now; we're getting ready to eat breakfast." Callahan said, "Well that's gonna wreck the party!!" LOL! "Oh I think this party will keep rolling just fine." :) He cracks me up!! More hilarity from Cal: Yesterday after Sna...

Callahan ate most of a large serving of French toast covered with a large serving of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, saltines, half of his carrots, and ate his fruit salad. Right after breakfast Miles said, "Outside? Outside? Outside?" Cal said, "Well it's too foggy." Haha. "We'll go outside after Snack today Miles just like we did yesterday." So here is a picture from yesterday afternoon. The snow is pretty frozen underneath the new couple of inches we got. It makes for hard walking across the snow, but it was pretty entertaining to watch!! Especially when the boys also tried to push dump trucks across it as well. Cal knew I was watching and laughing and he was in performance mode when I took this picture.  Next picture: This picture from this morning reminds me of yesterday afternoon when the boys awoke from their naps and wanted to do some puzzles. As they were working Cal said, "Hey Gary! Miles did not yell at me w...

Callahan ate waffle and grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, whole wheat tortillas, bites of corn, and ate apple slices. At Lunch Cal randomly said something he frequently hears me saying: "What did you say!?! I have NO idea what you're talking about!!" Haha. He knew he was being funny and that made me laugh. I said, "You're a funny kid Cal." Cal said, "Well you're funny too Gary!!" :) Two comedians complimenting each other. Haha. It was nice to have Callahan back today and Miles was very happy too. It's very cute to watch when they've not seen each other for a few days. So happy and getting along splendidly!! And it lasted most of the morning. They were bouncing and jumping on the mattress and Cal asked Miles, "Can I hit you?" Miles said, "Yes." So Cal gave him a nice straight jab to the belly. I honestly hated to intervene, but it was about to escalate!!  LOL! "Remember Boys, we don't hit each o...

Callahan ate cream of wheat cereal and bites of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of his chicken, bites of his brown rice, no broccoli, and ate his pineapple.   Just in case y'all keep hearing Christmas Songs from the kids - we're still doing Christmas songs. It started with Miles wanting to keep doing "Frosty the Snowman." So yesterday we all went above the garage and got the Frosty book - along with more Christmas books I'd put away for the season. Then this morning -  while doing Christmas books - Svea asked about "Twelve Days of Christmas." So back up the stairs I went for that one and others!! Haha. First picture: The boys were cleaning the stuffed animals off the mattress so they could jump. Then when they'd turn their backs I'd sling some of the animals back on the mattress. "Hey! Where'd those come from?!?" So they'd clean some more. Haha. And that's how your Childcare Provider amuses himself!! :) Not...

Callahan ate two servings of waffle and two servings of strawberry/mango for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, most of green beans, and most of his cherries. Cal and I were having a conversation when he was the only one here first thing this morning. Cal said, "Tu Tu is picking me up." Lauralea was in the kitchen and her and I started talking about the awesomeness of Grandparents for children and talking about Maddy and Tu Tu's family. Cal immediately said, "I have two dogs! Felix, who's big and Lola, who's little. And Felix doesn't have any teeth!" Really!?!  Here are some pictures from this morning's activities. This was Miles' "cake" and he was trying to "cut it." He wasn't having much success because the "cutter" is slightly too thick to get started cutting. Cal told him what he saw as the problem; "You're too little." :) That was a bit harsh!! Following two p...

Callahan ate bites of French toast covered with strawberries. For lunch he ate most of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of spices. He ate whole wheat dinner roll and ate mango/pineapple.  It was super nice to have Miles back this morning and he had a great morning so I think he was happy too! Callahan was happy to see Miles as well. They played together a lot and without any conflict! (Don't expect that to last!! Haha.) Miles saw the toy exchange and first thing he said, "ice cream!" "Pizza!" "Cups!" :) Second picture: The boys were playing with the cameras and Miles was saying, "Cheese, cheese, cheese!" (They were taking pictures of Lauralea.) Except Miles has his turned around so I guess that's a selfie. :) Next picture: Callahan did several activities in the Preschool while Miles was doing some puzzles. Miles wanted to join Cal with the "tinker toys," but it was a bit too muc...

Callahan ate half of his whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch he ate pork roast, whole wheat toast, bite of beets and ate his applesauce. This isn't about Cal, but I thought you'd like it. At breakfast we were talking about the Nelson Kitty - Vera - and I told Svea that Lauralea has an aunt named Vera. "Aunt Vera." Svea said, "Are you really NOT joking!?!?"  Haha. She knows her Gary!! True, for once I'm not joking. :) First two pictures: This first one is from yesterday afternoon beside the Doll House. Second picture: they were back there again this morning and Cal is the one who wanted to go there first. Svea is very creative and comes up with scenarios that have LOTS of moving parts. For the most part Cal goes along with it and frequently adds to it. In the first picture Svea was saying something like this: "The Dad is over there, the Unicorn Mom is here, and the Unicorn babies are here. Time to go to camp everyone!...

Callahan ate bites of corn chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate two large servings of ground beef covered with two large servings of avocado, he ate whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and mixed berries.  We did a toy, puzzle, and book exchange this weekend and the kids were super engaged all morning. Cal and Svea are the only ones here today and they were so wrapped up in the Daycare Room that they didn't even check out the Preschool Room! Svea is checking out Preschool Activities while Cal is napping. My role this morning was pretty much limited to observation. I love to see them that busy playing, exploring, role-playing, and learning about the world around them. These first two pictures were taken just a few minutes apart. Svea loves to organize all the food toys - and sometimes ALL the toys - on the step and in front of the gate. It usually involves having a party and today they were having a Birthday Party. The kids are wearing aprons and bracelets and...

Callahan ate kix cereal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of pork roast, ate whole wheat tortilla, bites of carrots, and ate mango/strawberries.  Cal and Svea were looking at my hand and Cal said, "What's that!?" "That would be the scar from my bike wreck." Cal asked, "When did you get your bike wreck; today or tomorrow?" So I asked them, "When do you think it was?" Cal said, "Tomorrow." Svea said, "Tomorrow." Then Svea added, "You said scar, like scarf." Yup that's right! More humor: (Haha.) Cal said, "I want to read books." Svea said, "I want to read Halloween books." I said, "I don't know if I even have any Halloween books." Svea said, "Yes you do - like the first day of Christmas my true love said to me me." OH!!! those Halloween Books!! Now I know which ones you mean. :) Cal and Svea are the only ones here today and they played steady...

Callahan ate blueberry bagel and peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate a large serving of hamburger & sausage pizza with meat, olives, pineapple, peppers, and tomato sauce. Bites of whole wheat pizza crust and ate pineapple on the side.  First picture: Svea asked if she could hide the eggs. I've kept the eggs available since last Easter and it's amazing how often the kids have asked for them. The big girls and Svea played with them SO much and now Svea has the boys involved as well. I like how she has her hand on her hip keeping a close eye on their progress and she frequently gives them enormously easy hints! Haha. Second picture: They don't need too many hints when Cal "hides" the eggs. Fifty percent of the eggs right there!! Haha.  Next picture: Svea was busy while the boys were eating breakfast and built this house with the blocks. You can barely see Svea on the top left of the picture standing on the toy shelf and she said, "This is my bedroom and ...
